Hi all you local singers! Here's Inverurie Choral Society's heads up for your diaries. We're planning a "Come and Sing" of the Faure Requiem for Saturday 18th March at the Acorn Centre in Inverurie. Learn the choruses during the day and perform for friends, families, neighbours and our local community. Faith Ockwell wielding the baton and Matthew McVey on the organ. Why not send us a message today to inveruriechoral@gmail.com, or send us a message here. It will be a great day.
Alternatively, if you've made up your mind that you would like to come along, you can download the form here.
Our Annual Christmas Concert was a stupendous success, particularly as it was the first we'd been able to hold since 2019, because of Covid. Our wonderful new MD, Faith, put together an intriguing selection of pieces as you can see from the program, below.
The "O Magnum", a 16th Century piece was in complete contrast with its sonorous cadences, the "The Virgin Mary had a Baby Boy". Bright and modern, it reflects the musical diversity of our whole world society.
The feedback from our large audience was both enthusiastic and complimentary.
We also had a guest appearance from Arthur The Elf.
The choir's annual charity donation this year will go to Inspire, a charity which enables people to live the life they want to and be all they can be.
Roll on 2023 and exciting possibilities for more and interesting and quality singing.
