Musical Postcards Summer Concert

Inverurie Choral's 28th Summer Concert will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday 30 May in St. Andrew's Church, Inverurie. It will feature a range of pieces taking us on a journey with the theme of "Musical Postcards". Led by our musical director, James GR Campbell, the concert will begin with Vivaldi's Gloria followed by Howells' "Collegium Regale" Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis. The choir will then go on to sing a number of lighthearted pieces including excerpts from the Pirates of Penzance, Sister Act, ABBA and more.
Interval refreshments and raffle will be available.
A bit about us, by way of Introduction

We are a friendly and welcoming bunch of folk who enjoy singing together every week, Wed nights, 7:30pm at The Acorn Centre, Inverurie, under the baton of Jamie Campbell, our new MD, putting on concerts at Christmas and in June, as well as giving performances in community settings and public places.
We also enjoy a bit of socialising, everything from joining fellow singers for a coffee or a pint, to a celebration party, BBQ or a Burns Supper.
Collaboration with other music makers is a particular pleasure. The successful Haydn "Creation" of 2018 with the Inverurie Orchestra remains a highlight to look back on. We were very excited to perform our Christmas Concert in 2023 along side Aberdeenshire Saxophone Orchestra, playing “The Snowman”. And it was a real treat to be joined by the Strathburn School Choir for our Christmas Concert in 2024. We also have a planned carol singing programme during December in local retirement, sheltered and care accommodation.
